Sample mouthwatering recipes from talented cooks competing under the International Chili Society banner, or test your own culinary skills by entering as a home cook for a chance to win the title of “Best Chili” along with a cash prize. Join The 18 Wheelers for a special Spray Tan Memorial Concert!
Yes, it’s true, that stalwart staple of the South Florida club scene has finally died a well deserved death.
In decades past, the spray tan was an effective tool to alert party goers that they were in the presence of an self absorbed idiot.
Now, thanks to today’s social media, there are other red flags available to the general public, and the venerable spray tan has been relegated to the ash heap of history.
To commemorate this day, Miami’s 18 Wheelers will perform a variety of Classic Honkytonk, Roots Rock, and Hillbilly Bop, at Tarpon River Brewing; a place that has always been anathema to purveyors of the spray tan.
Tarpon River Brewing is a cool brewery and gastropub in the industrial area in downtown Fort Lauderdale. A very nice selection of beer, lagers, and ales are brewed on the premises, plus there’s all the good stuff from the kitchen!

Friday, August 22, The 18 Wheelers will be back at Salt Waterfront Restaurant aka The Wet Lab, within the University of Miami Rosestiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science.
It’s a happy hour gig!The band will lay down the sounds of Classic Honkytonk, Roots Rock, and Hillbilly Bop in two sets; beginning at 6 pm and running to 8 or 8:30 pm.
Salt is open to the general public, and is a real hidden gem, with a million dollar view of Biscayne Bay and Key Biscayne.
