The 18 Wheelers return, Friday, April 3rd, to Salt Waterfront Restaurant aka The Wet Lab, within the University of Miami Rosestiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science.

Salt is open to the general public, and is a real hidden gem, with a million dollar view of Biscayne Bay and Key Biscayne.
This is a happy hour gig. The band will play two sets, starting at 6 pm and running to 8 or 8:30 pm.

The clientele at Salt’s happy hour on Friday is a lively crowd, typically composed of marine school students, their professors, scientists who work at NOAA (National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration) across the street, and local Miami folks who are cool enough to know that this place is here!

If the weather is good we’ll play outside on the waterfront patio, if it’s rainy, we’ll be inside. Let’s all hope for good weather !
The food is very good bar & grill type fare and served cafeteria style – there are no waiters. Belly up to the bar and order a glass of wine or one of the 17 different types of draft beer available!

We highly recommend going to the Salt website to check out pictures of this cool place, and to see where it’s located on the UM RSMS Key Biscayne Campus.(actually it’s on Virginia Key, before the bridge to Key Biscayne).

Salt aka The Wetlab on the UM RSMS Campus is located on the south (right hand) side of the causeway, just beyond the Miami Seaquarium. Go through the entrance gate and hang a right, follow the road around the perimeter of the campus, and it will eventually curve to the left and lead you to the Salt/Wetlab, which is facing Key Biscayne. The bridge will be on your left.
If you’re not sure, just ask anyone on the campus and they’ll direct you to the right place.. There’s plenty of free parking available too.

MayaMex at Capri Restaurant aka MayaMex South
Saturday June 27, 2026

7 – 10 pm
935 N. Krome Avenue
Florida City, FL 33034

(305) 247-1542

The 18 Wheelers are back at MayaMex Restaurant!
This truly authentic Mexican place has great REAL Mexican food and a full liquor bar.

If you are familiar with the Homestead/Florida City area, then you know this is the breadbasket of South Florida, with man, many farms.
You can be assured the ingredients at MayaMex are fresh and local.
This is not a gringo Mexican restaurant. It’s the real deal!

One thing which makes this place unique is it is actually two restaurants in one!
There are two front doors; one leads to MayaMex and the other to the long lived, Capri Italian restaurant.

The band played here a few months back and everyone had just the best time!
There is no cover charge and plenty of free parking.
